As you may know, we had our first race on Saturday, so one of my outfits was my racing gear. It’s not exactly on the cutting edge of stylish but it does the trick. At the moment, we’re transitioning from warm to cold weather gear and trying to find just the right balance between being warm enough while running that your skin never feels cold (which I something I detest and is hard to accomplish when the temperature is hovering near freezing) and not sweating to death either.

My current running gear is a white Nike hat that I borrowed from Stefan (although I’m probably going to be transitioning to a headband that covers my ears instead soon — I tried running in both the headband and the hat yesterday which was an epic fail), lightweight running tights and a lightweight jacket from Lidl (a discount store here in Germany that has a different collection of stuff each week that might include gardening tools, a new PC, running gear, kid’s stuff or who knows what), a short sleeve running shirt underneath and, of course, a running bra. I’m sure that at some point in the near future I will go into further detail about what I really think of these clothes, so runners — stay tuned! πŸ˜‰

Something else I’ve been sporting lately is my new black gem plugs. I don’t really know what it is about gem plugs, but at some point a few weeks after you’ve been wearing them, one of the gems will fall out. To say it’s annoying is an understatement. So I’ve gone from clear ones to black these days…

What are sporting this week? Galoshes and rain gear after Sandy? All bundled up and trying to stay warm?
