Although Mackenzie is not quite ready to enter the cell phone generation, its clear when you look around that we’ll have to cross that bridge at some point. Hopefully it will be many years before we’re considering allowing her to get her own cell phone, but it’s nice to know that there are options out there.
In fact, I recently learned about one which focuses on how to help parents keep in contact with their kids, no matter what they may be doing this summer, but still offers customized controls to help parents keep a lid on overuse. That’s exactly what three dads came up with when they developed Kajeet. And the best part is that services start at just $4.99 per month.
Although I have outlived many cell phones, I have yet to leave one somewhere (*knock on wood*). But these days, having a phone get lost or stolen happens all the time. Thanks to GPS tracking, you can use Kajeet to track down the phone…or even your teen. If you tend to worry or lose track of your family throughout the day, you can set up email updates which will trigger when your child arrives at school, practice, home, or elsewhere, giving you extra peace of mind throughout the day.
Due to it’s innovative idea, Kajeet has won all sorts of rewards and received acknowledgements from organizations such as PTPA Media, the Mom’s Choice Awards, iParenting and NAPPA (the National Parenting Publication Awards).
