One of my real big passions is sightseeing by running through cities. I believe you can only experience the true feel of a place while exploring it on your feet. Naturally, you can cover a whole lot more ground running than walking. Since sightseeing and taking pictures go hand, and this blog would be very boring without a few pictures to illustrate the race reports one needs to bring a camera on the run.  Running is not naturally the most opportune mode of transportation to carry a camera. Snapping pictures mid run can cause all kinds of trouble – from drops on the floor to getting soaked in a rain storm – a lot can happen out there. Recently I discovered the world of tough cameras and knew that something like that would be perfect to tote around town – small, fast and seemingly indestructible.

My beautiful and most awesome wife made my day by giving me an early birthday present – the Panasonic FT5 tough camera. This thing ranks pretty high up there in all the reviews for tough cameras – in fact, it seems like it is constantly winning some kind of comparison.

Here is a video of me unboxing this beautiful little orange wonder of technology.
