We bought a new freezer trunk earlier this week and are currently completely in love with it. We went shopping yesterday to start filling it up and of course because we have houseguests coming this weekend. They won’t all be staying here which takes some pressure off us but we will have a full day of cleaning ahead of us…after we get our car registration done, go to the pet store and make a quick visit to the drink market to return a bunch of empty drink cases after our party here in May. And of course we want to pick up a few drinks to have around on Saturday night since we are planning to grill here. The weather is actually pretty gross outside right now but they are saying that tonight it should start to clear out and the weekend is supposed to be pretty nice and not too warm – just what we were ordering 🙂

So back to the freezer trunk – we now have a whole lot of meat in there, ranging from chicken wings and breasts to ribs to steaks galore and of course all of our berries which we’ve harvested from our garden. Slowly but surely we are starting to fill the trunk up. Stefan read a suggestion about keeping your freezer trunk organized which I really liked. One woman uses large plastic storage containers to hold various bags and collections of meat, fruit, etc in her trunk. The containers can be stacked up on each other and labeled so you don’t need to dig through your entire trunk ever time you want to thaw something out. Sounds like a very smart idea to me…but maybe that’s just the OCD side of me talking lol.
