Hello furry (and not so furry) friends!

What an exciting week it has been! This weekend was our big Thanksgiving party with a bunch of my friends and I had the best time loving on them. It nearly made up for the fact that Mackenzie got a huge pile of presents two days before (ugh, mom says there will be photos of all that coming soon – whatever).

So yeah, back to me, the important one here. I got to see some people that I haven’t seen in FOREVER….and they wanted to give me lots of loving, which I so desperately needed. And look! Am I not the best lap puppy ever?!

On top of all the wonderful Newfie cuddling that was going down, I also ran into my new friend Gina. You might remember Maya, the greatest hay bale jumping dog of all time. Well a little while after Maya passed, her family had to get a new dog because life was just not the same.

Gina is a German Shepherd and she’s, well, a puppy. She’s somewhere around 9 months old I guess…and she doesn’t nibble on my ears or anything but she loves to play and get rough. And while I’m usually totally cool with that, I have to admit that I have slowed down ever so slightly in the last year. I mean really, why do I need to run around for 5 minutes before we start playing. I’ll just stand and wait until the other dog returns, mmmh ‘kay?

Make no mistake…I can still run around like a dog who’s tail is on fire with the best of them. But when you’re hauling around 110 pounds of Newfie (and at least 20 of that is fur plus all the snow and ice I pick up), you’re just not as fast as the young pups. So you make those crazy running moments count!

I’m so excited to finally get to play in the snow again. I’ve so missed the winter. And coming home with my fur all frozen and full of icicles; there’s nothing quite like it. I could do without the whole ice in the paws experience…and the massive amounts of salt on the sidewalks, but thankfully the latter is less of a problem so far this year since we’ve had such nice, powdery snow. And there are few things on earth like a doggie snow cone fresh from the driveway. Watch out for the yellow stuff, though, folks!

Until next time (when we might have even more snow on the ground),
