Woof, woof Friends!
Hope 2010 is off to a stellar start for you and your family. It’s been quite chilly here in Germany…the humans are saying something about -11°C (11°F) in the mornings. I don’t really know what that equals in dog temperature but let’s just say I can see my breath when I’m outside and everything that comes out of me steams when it hits the ground. Cool!
We got snow here this weekend which was really magical. I went to bed one night, got up the next morning and there was enough snow to lose my paws in the next morning. I swear someone trucks this stuff in just to mess with my head. The humans have mentioned something about it falling from the sky but I personally have never seen it. Whenever they tell me to look at the snow, I start looking up, down, left, right…but I never see the alleged snow they speak of.
Unfortunately because it’s so cold, I’ve missed a couple walks here and there. Mom and the baby apparently have some issues about going out in this weather. I really don’t know why because I find it rather lovely…but mom says her fingers start burning like they are going to fall of, which is apparently not a good sensation. If I could, I would loan them my fur coat. Maybe mom can knit herself some mittens from all the fur she brushes out of me. That would be SO stylish! But isn’t it pretty back there were we go walking??
Unfortunately most of the white, fluffy stuff has melted already and it’s so cold now that we may not get more for a while. But it seems that the weather forecasters really don’t know what to do with themselves cause they’ve been wrong on most accounts these days. I do hope that maybe, just maybe we can have a blizzard or something which leaves us a few feet of snow. I’ve never seen anything like that before. Just think; I could tunnel in my own courtyard without really even having to dig! Just start running and create a maze as I go. Maybe you can come help me? My friend Mani across the street gets snow balls thrown for him…only problem is that they tend to explode in his face when he goes to catch them!
Well pups, I guess that’s enough barking for now. It’s time for me to get back to snoring in my chair in the living room. It’s hard work but some dog has to do it! And maybe I’ll play foot warmer to mom or dad for a bit since it’s pretty chilly in here.
Stay warm, wherever you are!
Frozen Newfie kisses,
Ayla
