When we are planning our holiday vacations, we tend to look for places where we can relax and take a rest from the city’s noise and rush. If you’re like me, you work hard day and night, which is part of the entrepreneurial life. But that also makes it all the more important to take amazing vacations (especially when you live in your own slice of tropical paradise already) so that you can really unwind. To be fair, finding flights to an island similar to the one where Robinson Crusoe lived for a few years might be pretty difficult. But there are at least five islands which might be close to that.

Check out these incredible that are no doubt worthy of your attention, but have not yet been discovered by many. That means you can still rest quietly or pull on those hiking pants and go exploring, all the while enjoying beautiful natural surroundings and forgetting that the city or the rest of the world even exist.

Solta Island (Croatia)

Solta is a small, little-known island, located near the tourist-favorite Korcula and Hvar islands. The latter became famous in 2011 when Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z spent their vacations there.

Solta Island is somewhat similar to the Hvar: it fascinates with orange tile-covered brick roofs, flashing sunlight, the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, and polished stone beaches. In this very quiet island, surrounded by 24 bays and it is also the home to just 1400 people. But here you can find a few good restaurants where you can enjoy a nice red wine and fresh seafood, seasoned with locally produced olive oil.

On Solta Island there are also many lodging options, from a luxury hotel in an 18th-century castle to inexpensive apartments that the locals offer to tourists.

Although it seems that the cold would reign throughout the year, during the warm season, the temperature can rise to 9 degrees Celsius here. Also, from mid-April to the end of August on the island the sun shines even at midnight, so here you can experience what a polar day is like too. Those who wish to enjoy the Northern Lights can do that from November to February as well.
