The hubby and I have talked about it jokingly before but sometimes I really start to wonder if we have the world’s only warm climate Newf. It would seem that Ayla enjoys being in rooms where it’s warm rather than cold most of the time. I don’t think it really has anything to do with us either.

Since Monday’s are my official clean up around the house day, I opened the door to the winter garden (a glassed in room for those not familiar with this German phrasing for the room) and it’s always at least 5 degrees warmer in there than the rest of the house…as well as the outdoors. This is due to the air heating up in the room of course and having nowhere to escape. Well, I was watering the plants in there (always proud that I’ve managed to keep them alive the whole year and a half we’ve lived here) and the warm wave of air hit me. So I go about watering the plants and when I return the second time with water, Ayla is laying in the room on the floor, looking just about ready to pass out.

Perhaps this is just a coincidence because she wanted to be near me while I was watering (although it was about 6 feet from where she was laying before) or maybe she truly does enjoy the warmth. She often lays in the sun and doesn’t mind being outside even when it’s too warm for me out there. Naturally this could lead to heat stroke or any number of other things but I do find it quite interesting that she ended up with us…two people who love the warmth of places like Miami and Texas and tend to complain when it’s only in the 60’s. lol
