So I think I’ve mentioned before that we now have a Frisbee for Ayla to play with outside…and it has helped us to realize that we really enjoy throwing it back and forth to each other while she plays with something else. Of course we can’t just confiscate the dog’s toy for ourselves so we throw it for her a little but she doesn’t really know the meaning of bring or give or drop or anything else that would allow us to take it from her and rethrow it so she just lays in the yard chewing on it and running away if we try to approach her. So lately we have just started kicking around a soccer ball or something when she had the Frisbee…naturally with hopes that she would become interested in the ball and drop the Frisbee so we could play with it a bit longer…we’re terrible I know lol.

Yesterday she demonstrated her quick reasoning skills and after we used the toy diversion tactics the first time, she changed the game. When we started kicking around the soccer ball, she decided not to let go of the Frisbee for any reason. She was running all over the yard with the Frisbee hanging out of her mouth, almost to the ground and sometimes tripping over it, and chasing the soccer ball at the same time. One of those moments we knew we should have had the camera with us…she always keeps us laughing…

End result of this story will be: we buy a Frisbee for ourselves and don’t let her play with it either….hmmm, I wonder how long that will last…maybe she’ll at least alternate with us 😉
