This was the hubby’s last day off for this week so we decided to come home at around 2:30 so we could still have some time to relax on the couch and “prepare” ourselves for the short week ahead. Apparently the last 4 1/2 days have taken their tole on Ayla as well because she has barely moved since we got home. I think she doesn’t sleep all that much during the times we’re working which means she is missing out on about 4 hours in the morning and at least another 3 in the afternoon. But she is going to try to catch up on all that lost time today, I think. lol
Our evening walk was rather slow and lethargic. We thought about taking the short route only but figured we might as well do the full walk just in case she was only pretending to be so tired. I guess she’ll also be spending a lot of time sleeping tomorrow which is probably what I will feel like doing as well. What a life.
We only did a little work on the house this morning, just finalizing a few things so Ayla can truly have full reign of the courtyard. They also came and picked up the trash container which was almost as exciting as when they picked it up. Had a very animated driver this time around who was trying to sell us a horse by the time he left. Quite the character indeed. Also had a random visit by a neighbor (we think) which neither of us really quite understood but he seemed like a friendly old man.
So far, Ayla has not really barked at anything or anyone passing by outside which we are very pleased about. It is a fairly high traffic street and we have noticed that most of the dogs in the neighborhood have huge territory issues and bark like crazy when you walk by their fence…so we’re hoping Ayla doesn’t get any crazy ideas from any of them.
She is definitely enjoying her new freedom in the new house although the concept of going potty on concrete is a bit strange for her…but we’re pretty sure she’ll come around quickly 😉
