The cleaning frenzy has begun again. We finished cleaning out the workshop in the barn and at least have plenty of stuff for all the tools and such that we come across. And some day we’ll eventually get around to putting away the things we’ve found and the stuff we bring over here so we can actually use some of these items in the future.

One of our peach trees in the garden is so full of peaches at the moment that we absolutely must pick them. We harvested 25 pounds so far and there is probably another 25 on the ground that has already fallen. We’ve got two more much smaller trees that will need another couple of weeks before the peaches are ready. But the two biggest trees we have may not make it next year. The branches have already been supported with wooden stakes to keep them from breaking off but we were too late to really catch the biggest one. It’s not the end of the world since we’re not peach fanatics but it is just one more thing to add to our to do list.

We did some weed pulling in the garden as well. I fear that it will all look exactly the same in a week or so and we have no idea what we really need to do in there at the moment to prepare it for next year soI guess we’ll be consulting the internet a lot on that one.

While we were back there we also met Mrs. Dietz who is our garden neighbor. She lives in the house right behind us and they have a rather massive farm as well but much more modern than ours. She was telling us that the previous owner (PO) actually built a kitty door into the barn so that her three-legged cat could come in and out of there. So that is also another thing we’ll need to be closing up since we don’t need the cat using the barn as his personal litter box while we’re not living there. On the other hand, if there do happen to be any mice or rats around, he could hopefully get rid of them for us.

And yet another trash container is full so we’ll have that picked up as soon as possible. It seems like the trash just never ends…
